A Birthday Wish From Around The World
Master Wyatt Gets Well Wishes From China

Even though he is on the other side of the world, IMF Tae Robics and Tae Kwon Do member, Tarhan Feyzioðlu, now the
Resident Representative for China and his daughter Anja, who participated in several of the Saturday afternoon Tae Kwon Do classes at the dojang, sent Master Wyatt a very special Happy Birthday greeting and wanted to relay good wishes to everyone.

They both are wearing their official WTKDC Tee Shirts and Tarhan even put on his entire Summer Uniform, as they hold up the sign that they made reading "Happy Birthday, James".
The pictures were taken in front of the doors of the main courtyard of their house, and by the sunroom off of the main entrance. As you can see from the pictures, the weather is gorgeous, with just a little pollution because of the May Day holidays, but as Tarhan said, "we are enjoying every bit of it". He also says, in general, it is very exciting to live in Beijing, which is such a dynamic city, growing widthwise and hightwise day by day, and getting ready for next year's Olympics. Work is exciting too, and there certainly is lots of it.
A Little Bit of Floor Work!

As well practicing the Forms and Fighting techniques, we also work very hard on self protection from the floor. Pictured are a few of the students at our IMF location working with Master Wyatt on preventive floor attacks.
The IMF Tae Kwon

The International Monetary Fund Has FIVE National Champions

Four of the Five IMF Students who participated in the World Series of Martial Arts National Martial Arts Tournament, in Reston, Virginia stand proud with their awards. Left to right is Jung Kim, Peter Tollitson, Ketil Hviding, and Stacy Wade. Not pictured (because she is away on mission) is Elena

The IMF students continue to make history with their outstanding performance at local, regional and even NATIONAL martial arts tournaments. A few of the students participated in one of the top rated tournaments in the country, Charlie Lee's World Series of Martial Arts National Tournament. Participants came from all across the country to compete in this event and our students came out on top. Special credit goes out to Jung and Stacy (who initially tied for 1st place, Jung won by a tie breaker) and Elena, who placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd consecutively in Womens 35 and old Beginner Division. Peter (the most senior student at the IMF) won 1st place in Forms and 1st in Sparring in the Senior Beginner Men's Divisions. Ketil represented the Intermediate division and won 1st place honors in that division.
We're Moving Up In Rank!

The pressure was on, but the IMF students rose to the occasion at the Annual Spring Simsa
The IMF Testing Students and the Black Belt judging panel
along with the kids (future students of the WTKDC)

Several students performed their very first simsa before a premier testing panel and made history for the IMF and The Washington Tae Kwon Do Club. Never before has a group of Beginner students tested before a testing panel of such great magnatude, but on this day, Master Black Belt notables such as Grand Master Furman Marshall, Mfundi Dennis Brown, Grand Master Manuel Agrella, Grand Master Ali Shabazz, Master Chris Moore, Master Greg Kennedy, Master Vincent Jones and a host of others were amazed at the talents of Mster Wyatt's new beginner students. So much so, that they overwhelmingly agreed that each of the IMF students was promoted from 10th Gup White Belt to 8th Gup Gold Belt.
The students worked hard in preparing for their big day and in the end, all of their efforts paid off. The next simsa will be in August, 2007.

Adult Students, Jung Kim, Stacy Wade, Peter Tillotson and

This was their first time ever competing in a national event and they each simply blew the competition away. Also, Denise Morelli and Darlene Scott were Finalist in the same division.
In addition, Peter Tillotson, in his first time ever competing in a martial arts tournament, won 2nd place inthe Senior Men's Forms division and Jung Kim, who won 2nd in Forms, also won 1st place in the Adult Men's and Women's, Beginner and Intermediate Weapons division.

Senior WTKDC Black Belt and Former Middleweight Sparring Champion, Gregory Kennedy, showed that he still had what it takes to be a winner by winning 2nd Place in Senior Black Belt Forms and 2nd Place in Senior Black Belt Sparring.
Congratulations goes out to each of you as you each continue to hold up our reputation as being "One of Washington's Winningest Dojangs!"

Gold Belt, Jung Kim sets a new record at the Washington Tae Kwon Do Club
8th Gup Gold Belt, Jung Kim, made history at the WTKDC, when she became the first underbelt student to win 1st place and using two different weapons at a major tournament. She won "hands down" against the competition at Everhart's 23rd Annual Tri-Area Tournament in Laurel, Maryland.
She also won the Adult Women's Forms division and is now in training for the sparring division. She is looking forward to becoming the first adult triple crown winner when she competes in Baltimore on January 20, 2007, in the Forms, Weapons and Fighting divisions. Congratulations goes out to her and we wish her much success.
