*IMPORTANT NOTE: All times are approximate. Please arrive early to ensure your participation. We are not responsible if you miss your division.

Competitors may compete in as many events as they like, HOWEVER, we cannot and will not hold up any division if you are competing in another event when your name is called. Please choose your divisions carefully as there are no refunds if you miss your event.
The JW Kids Classics “SPECIALTY DIVISIONS”
The JW Kids Classics is designed for all kids up to 18 years old to have FUN and test their martial arts skills, as well as good competition! We have several “Specialty Divisions” that help to make the tournament fun and exciting for all competitors. Below is a description of each of these Specialty Divisions. These events will start the tournament off beginning at 9:00 a.m. SHARP! For more clarification on the rules of these events, go to our website at www.wtkdc.com/jwkidsclassics.
The Student/Instructor Forms Division The Student will perform their Form Pattern with his/her Adult Instructor in a synchronized manner (instructors MUST Be at least 18 years old). Form can be performed empty handed, with a weapon, to music or any combination of the mentioned. Judging will be based on creativity, tradition, synchronization, balance, technique, power, focus and speed, level degree of difficulty and overall appearance and presentation. Divisions are stated on the application. Limit 2 students per division for each Black Belt, ie, two beginners, 2 intermediates, etc.
The Student/Parent Forms Divisions The Student will perform their Form Pattern with his/her Parent, Guardian or Adult Martial Arts Classmate in a synchronized manner .(NOTE: There MUST be an age difference of AT LEAST 20 years between the Student and the Adult Participant). Form can be performed empty handed, with a weapon, to music or any combination of the mentioned. Judging will be based on creativity, tradition, synchronization, balance, technique, power, focus and speed, level degree of difficulty and overall appearance and presentation. Divisions are stated on the application. Limit 2 children per division for each Parent/Adult, ie, two beginner kids, 2 intermediate kids, etc.
The Youth Demo/Team Forms Division Youth Team can consist of students of all ranks. Students will perform Martial Arts Techniques in a creative manner either to music, empty handed, with weapons or any combination of the above. Judging will be based on creativity, tradition, synchronization, balance, technique, power, focus, speed, level degree of difficulty and overall appearance and presentation. Limit 2 Teams per School.
The Youth Team Sparring Division Teams will compete in ACCUMULATIVE POINT Sparring matches on either 3 or 5 person MIXED (must include a female). The Under Belt Teams can consist of any belt ranks. The Three Person Under Belt age groups will be 1 member between 8 and 10 years old, 1 member between 11 and 13 years old, and 1 member between 14 and 18. The Five Person Under Belt age group will consist of 1 member between 8 and 9 years old, 1 member between 10 and 12 years old, and 1 member between 13 and 14 years old, 1 member between 15 and 16 years old, and 1 member between 17 and 18 years old. Black Belt Teams will follow these same age groups. See application for divisions.
The Youth Self-Defense/One Step Sparring Division Youth Under Belts will perform THREE Self Defense/One Step Sparring techniques of any kind. The partner of the defender MUST be a martial art student of the same Belt Ranking and age group, ie, a BEGINNER YOUTH’s partner MUST be a White, Gold or Orange belt.
Youth Black Belts will perform THREE Self-Defense/One Step Sparring techniques: 1 technique empty handed, 1 technique against a weapon and 1 technique against a multiple attack. Black Belts are free to use any martial artist as their partner. The Youth Board Breaking Division Youth will perform board breaking techniques using the hand, foot, elbow, or forearm according to their belt rank. Competitors will break BOARDS ONLY, No Bricks, glass, etc. No flammable liquids. Competitors MUST use a cloth to protect the floor and MUST remove their own debris. See the application for divisions. The BEST Martial Arts School BANNER Award Each participating martial arts school will be allowed to hang their school around the gymnasium. A 1st , 2nd and a 3rd place trophy will be given to the three schools with the Best Banners as determined by Kwanjang James Wyatt and his staff. Banners will be hung by the school and will be hung in a location selected by the school. Locations are chosen on a first come, first serve basis.

Turn Right onto Livingston Road, then go 0.6 miles and turn right at Wentworth Drive, then go 0.3 miles and turn right at Haven Avenue. Make a quick left turn at Shelby Drive and another quick right turn at Leyte Drive. From Points North: Take the Washington Area Capital Beltway (95/495 South) to exit 3A and follow the above directions. Refreshments and martial arts supplies and equipment will be on sale.
